Harry Potter

Lord Voldemort, whose birth name was Tom Marvolo Riddle, is the primary antagonist in the Harry Potter series. He first appeared, though not physically, in *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone*, mentioned as the Dark Lord who murdered Harry Potter's parents.

Born to a witch, Merope Gaunt, and a Muggle, Tom Riddle Senior, Voldemort grew up in a London orphanage, unaware of his magical heritage. He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, excelling in his studies and possessing great charisma, but secretly delving into the Dark Arts.

Driven by a fear of death and a desire for power, Riddle split his soul into multiple Horcruxes to achieve immortality. He amassed a following of Dark wizards and witches, known as Death Eaters, and waged a campaign of terror against the wizarding world.

Voldemort's ultimate goal was to establish a pure-blood regime and eliminate all Muggle-born witches and wizards. His reign of terror was eventually brought to an end by Harry Potter, whom he failed to kill as a baby, and was the main source of his demise.
